At CareAxiom we have an engineering-first culture. We provide autonomy to our engineers in decision making, implementation and process improvement. We put huge emphasis on frequent releases (daily automated deployments through chatops), automated tests (for robustness as well as better architecture) and code reviews. We are looking for engineers who can help us improve the technical underpinnings of our product and process both.

Job Role

To start you would be actively involved in coding and building the features & enhancements in our code product. Later you’ll transition into a technical leadership role involving onboarding new team members, mentoring juniors, code reviews and requirement analysis with the product team. You will be responsible for maintaining and execution of the technical roadmap of the product on quarterly basis. This includes a high level of product’s engineering quality, identifying upcoming challenges and figuring technical solutions to them.

We are primarily a Javascript shop. Our backend is majority in Node.js (with some legacy code in PHP). Our frontends include Angular 1.x and React. We are strong proponents of microservices with RESTful and GraphQL interfaces. We use Amazon Web Services extensively for our servers, databases, event management and cache storage.

Some of the interesting challenges we would be working on in 2021 and you would play a critical role in them includes opening up our product API for third party usage, transitioning our traditional services to Fargate/Kubernetes, increasing product engagement by enhancing our Alexa Voice skill, explore Typescript for migrating existing codebase.

Key competencies

● Experience working as part of a distributed Agile team. We have team members spread across the US and Pakistan.
● Advanced understanding of web architecture and database fundamentals.
● Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a development team with a range of
scientific and professional backgrounds.
● Practical experience of leading a team of engineers; including experience of setting up
processes like release management, code configuration, code reviews etc.
● Expertise in Javascript, Node.js, Angular, will be highly preferred.
● Experience with creating APIs for third parties and consuming third-party APIs will be a plus.
● Experience integrating with external systems will be a plus.
